Reiki
Reiki {pronounced ray-key} comes from two Japanese words ‘Rei’- Spiritual Wisdom and ‘Ki’- Life Energy).
Simply put, Reiki means “universal life energy”. This technique was developed as a system of natural healing by Dr. Mikao Usui,
a 19th Century Japanese Buddhist, and has been utilized for hundreds of years in support of overall health and wellness.
Reiki is a spiritual healing practice that deeply relaxes, refreshes, and renews by supporting inner balance and wholeness,
through gentle touch. When energy is strong and free-flowing, your body and mind are in a positive state of health and well-being.
When your energy becomes weak, blocked, or out of balance it can show up in the form of illness,
stress, and other physical and mental challenges.
Just as people use therapeutic massage, chiropractic, and acupuncture as complementary healing modalities
in combination with traditional (allopathic) medical treatments, Reiki can help restore the natural flow of energy and balance.
Why Try Reiki?
Research studies have shown that Reiki can be helpful in stress reduction, releasing toxins, accelerating the healing process,
lowering blood pressure, and can be an effective tool in pain management. Someone experiencing a major imbalance may
become emotionally depressed and/or begin symptoms of physical pain or illness.
Reiki is a safe complement to conventional Western medicine, Chinese medicine, herbal medicine, homeopathy,
and all other forms of healing and is practiced in many hospitals, medical centers, nursing homes, and care facilities around the world.
